This place is awesome! Really great food and customer service. Plátano with beans is one of favorite things! Recently found this place and I'm glad I did.

This was my first experience trying El Salvadorian cuisine. I was promptly greeted when I entered the restaurant and was sat at a table. The young lady immediately brought the menu and chips with salsa. The salsa was great. Very flavorful.
I ordered the grilled chicken which came with white rice that was no different than white rice in any Asian restaurant and beans. The beans were tasteless and I added salsa the portion was also to small for beans. I also had a salad on the same plate but served without any salad dressing which I thought was bizare.
I used the salsa as the salad dressing.
The chicken was alright but nothing that was exceptional. It was just average and didn't have much as for spices or anything to add flavour. It was pretty tasteless.
The flat bread things was alright but not as flavorful as pita.
Customer service was terrific and friendly but the food was just average. I actually prefer Mexican food now that I've tried this cuisine. Maybe it's my taste but I didn't think anything other than the salsa had flavour.
$25- including the tip. Not sure if I would return but doubtful. -

While I am acquainted with a lot of Salvadorians, I actually have almost zero knowledge of their cuisine outside their signature: pupusas. I really didn't know what to expect so I came with a truly open palate hoping to experience and learn something about their culinary flavors. I mean, besides the simple knowledge that corn and cheese is present (and not doing my homework for once through google), I just showed up and was ready to order across the board and just wing it like I usually do. Like it, eat it and pack unfinished goods. Hate it, then don't eat it and leave it sitting where it is to rot forevermore.
So I was delighted to find that they sport a massive combination that had allowed a clueless diner like myself to sample something across the menu. Cheaper, obviously, than having to order each one and still volume enough to easily feed two average diners. I guess that's why our lovely server chimed the words "share". AND she wasn't kidding. If you look at my posted photo, you can refer to my dinner utensils to gage the proportions. From pupusas (choose your fillings from about 10 options), to meat pastries, Salvadorian style slaw, rice and beans, tamales (filing also to your choice), and fried Yuca...this *will* food-comatose the average diner.
But we attacked it and we somewhat finished it. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was.
As in, you could tell that whoever was making and cooking the food really cared about what was being served. It was obvious from the moment I tasted their salsa. Nothing short of magical. And so it should be of no surprise that I highly recommend this little gem of Marina (once again, note that I don't know Salvadorian food but say it from a taste and culinary perspective) as a place that you should at least try once if you're in the area. I'm pretty sure you'll like it unless you're a complete carnivore that demands a higher ratio of protein to everything else.

So throughout the meal, I kept hearing the sounds of flap-pap-tap like there was you-know-something-high-school-going-on back there. I guess that's what makes pupusas so sexy, the process of making it *is* well, magical. -

Awesome food, great prices, friendly staff, complimentary chips and salsa while you wait for your food. The combo pupusa was the star and then the plantains! Cute place as well, will be back!
